Fatima Salya – Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Preston, Lancashire
Hello! My name is Fatima Salya
Psychotherapist and Counsellor in Preston, Lancashire
I am a local counsellor and psychotherapist with my main practice in Preston, Lancashire. In addition to psychotherapy and counselling here in Preston, I provide the same services in London, Dubai, Antalya, Turkey. I visit India for charitable work.
Also, I am part of 50:50 Parliament and a UN women’s UK delegate, and regularly support women charities that help empower women.
Trying to live with any kind of anxiety, depression, stress or trauma is not only painful but isolating too. Having that burden lifted can enable you to fully live your life.
Together we will work on the issues which are affecting your life to find a way for you to deal with them, and help you to resolve them so that you can feel happier and more at ease.
I understand that it can be very difficult to talk about certain issues. I will try to help you feel as comfortable with this as possible. If we are focusing with a problem or difficulty, it may start to shift by itself in a direction that we haven’t expected. It can provide us with answers/solutions to difficulties.
You can learn about focusing and apply it in everyday life to help
us find an easier way of dealing with a problem, and solve it.
You can use it to help make difficult decisions. It is a useful aid to
stress relief and personal development and can help you to feel calmer,
happier and generally more at peace.
About Me
At the University of Central Lancashire I studied a variety of subjects including psychology, philosophy and psychoanalysis. Additionaly, I studied feminism, race and ethnic studies. After I graduated in 2007 going through several difficult issues of my own I finally sought the help of a therapist.
It was a life changing experience for me, and one which has enabled me to lead a happier and fulfilled life. I was very nervous about seeking counselling and fortunately I found an excellent counsellor with whom I felt comfortable.
I do therefore understand how important it is to find a therapist with whom you feel completely at ease with.
My Background
My background has furnished me with extensive insight into the stresses and strains of different working environments. I’m not only a counsellor and psychotherapist but also a english language professor @englishtefl and an interior designer. This keeps me busy.
I’m a British-Indian Muslim and have been living in Dubai for 15 years before moving to the UK. I work for various charities, schools and colleges around the world using techniques such as Integrative Therapy Sessions and Art Therapy focusing on women and children.
Contact Me
Feel free to contact me via our informal ‘chat with us’ app, or by WhatsApp.
After a chat we can book a first session together to see how we get on.
If at the end of that session for any reason you or I feel you would be better suited to a different counsellor, I will help you find someone appropriate. It is important to find the right therapist for you so please be in touch and we can take it from there.
Contact me online
Perhaps you travel often or cannot get into Lancashire or maybe it is difficult for you to fit the time to travel. Whatsapp sessions are as effective as face to face counselling and psychotherapy sessions, and quick and easy to set up.
Contact me for details and we can try a first session to see if you are comfortable with it before we plan more sessions. Our time together will be spent exploring the issues that you bring in a discreet, confidential, safe and supporting environment.
